A Nashville themed wedding was inevitable considering the groom is the lead singer of one of the UK’s top country music bands; UKCMA’s group of the year might I add.
Tara and Mat’s wedding journey started all the way over in Nashville, Tennessee, where Mat proposed on one of the iconic bridges. This paved the way to a very unique wedding indeed. Wickham Estates seemed the perfect place to hold a country themed wedding, you would have been forgiven to think that we had landed in Tennessee for the day and I was excited to cover their wedding photography at Wickham Estates
Hampshire Vineyard Wedding
We started the day at the Meon Valley Hotel in Shedfield which was just a short drive away. Here Tara had her bridesmaid’s and close family with her to help with the preparations and, of course, to keep her on time!
Now, how would you expect to travel to a Country wedding? In a Mustang of course! One of the other band member’s was waiting outside to escort Tara to her awaiting groom.
Hampshire's Finest Vineyard Wedding Venue
As I mentioned before Wickham Estates was the perfect setting for Tara and Mat’s wedding but to be honest it is probably one of the best Hampshire vineyards for weddings by far, just taste the wine and you will agree with me.
The ceremony took place within the Byre situated next to the courtyard - outdoor weddings are popular in America and this fit the bill nicely. Once a few tears were shed and the I do’s had been said, everyone used the courtyard to catch up with one another, have some nibbles and a drink or two.
Stunning Vineyard Wedding Venue
The evening didn’t disappoint as Mat and his band, Dirt Road Diary, took to the stage to get the party started! Immediately everyone was on the dance floor, Tara and her bridesmaids who, of course, were celebrating with stars and stripes flying!
The party kept going as did the Jack Daniels well into the late evening and I know that everyone had a night to remember… or not.

I can’t speak highly enough of this wedding location, it really is a unique vineyard wedding venue. Sam and her team work tirelessly to produce the most incredible weddings. To start with, The Old Winery is a beautiful place to hold your reception - it has modern and rustic charm with chandeliers made of vintage crystal cut wine glasses and 10ft oak doors.
This is the only licensed vineyard in Hampshire and you are spoilt with 4 different locations to get married in.
1. Gazebo – This is situated right amongst the vines so you are immersed within the vineyard for a truly spectacular wedding ceremony. Your guests are sat on the rustic wooden benches as you walk down to aisle to your truly unique wedding experience.
2. Vine Room - Perfect for those Autumn/Winter weddings or as a beautiful Plan B, just because we live in the UK and you never know! The large windows let in an astounding amount of light so your photographer will certainly thank you!
3. Byre – This is where Tara and Mat got married, it provides the perfect outdoor ceremony no matter what the weather brings.
4. Old winery – This is the perfect winter wedding location. Everything is under one roof and you haven’t compromised anything because it has all that character I mentioned above.
